How to use this website

Sounds:

The sounds you will find on the site are free for any use you wish to make of them.

Whether you’re the lucky owner of a vintage 12-bit sampler or you’ve simply downloaded a $4 app on your smartphone to play around making your own beats while lounging on the sofa or in a big recording studio. The mini-guide we recommend below will be useful and interesting.

The philosophy behind soundtimeart is strongly inspired by the history of the sampler and its first uses based heavily on experimentation that started from a simple basic element… a sample of a few fractions of a second.

So don’t expect ready-to-use modern libraries with Gigabites of pre-packaged samples but rather let yourself be carried away by the old school charm of using sound as a primary source for the creation of new waves that reflect your unique way of using them as it derives from manipulation free from the source.

Among the various videos and tutorials available online, we recommend this excerpt from Junkie XL which can tell you and make you feel what is difficult to explain in words. Don’t get too caught up in G.A.S = Gear Acquisition Syndrome :), but try to understand how important it is for a top-level producer like him to create the “right sound” by working and dedicating time to the single sample.

The philosophy of this place is to freely exchange information, sounds, knowledge and everything you find interesting. If you want to increase this archive with new instruments or new samples, write to us at this address, we will be happy to integrate your support

Articles:

The articles you will find on these pages are small pills of art and culture which aim to enrich your journey within our site. Historical and artistic connections which, without claiming to be perfect or complete, give a sense of wholeness and a sort of satisfaction in seeing how often elements of different cultures and different sources are actually connected and influence each other much more than we we believe.

Feel free if you deem it appropriate to report any errors or improvements by integrating these small pages with your knowledge, perhaps helping us to make them into something more complete and rich.
